I tried Oxyclean in the past. I used it with detergent, in place of detergent, as a spot remover, concentrated mix and dilute mix. It never seemed to do anything useful.

In addition to the soap and a good tip is to mix the oxiclean with about 2 cups of HOT HOT water before you add it to the machine. This way it really oxygenates. That's just what I do and I don't know if there is any scientific reasoning behind it.

For carpets and upholstery, mix powdered oxiclean with water and apply with a spray bottle. Let sit for a few minutes and blot with a clean cloth or paper towel. For laundry, it can be applied to individual spots as with upholtery or added along detergent into the wash water.

I use oxiclean to clean my brewing equipment (yeah beer) For laundry i use it in addition to laundry detergent. Esp if my youngest did not do such a good job at wiping his bottom... works wonders on that!

Oxiclean is, a substitute for chlorine bleach. Use it in combination with your favorite laundry detergent.

In addition. If I have a tough stain (grease, mud) I will put some liqid detergent on it and then some powdered oxi and make a paste and scrub the stain a little. It comes out 99.9% of the time that way.

I don't add it to the wash - I use it separately in the sink to get out stains from individual clothes. I use it to soak off burnt on food in a pot. To clean venetian blinds in the tub (amazing) To clean jewellery. To clean yellowed plastic casings around ceiling fans, old yellowed curtains/tablecloths. To clean out vases where I can't reach in. To clean white sneakers..... The stuff is amazing and it works!!! but you have to use HOT HOT HOT water.
