Im confused and I don't know who i am bc i dont really like anything. I tried joining clubs and sports but i still cant seem to know the real me. In my school, I don't really fit in anywhere i'm so different. Im not the cheerleader type or punk or hip hop or whatever else is out there. So, I need help so I can find out who I really am so I could find out what is meant for me in this world.

Try listening to music. Join the band but say no to drugs.

Some people won't figure that out until they are 30 or even older. Instead of trying to "fit in" do what makes you happy, ask yourself what you want. Work on being healthy, self disciplined, and find accomplishment in the things you do. High school is just a huge stage of roaring confused hormones. Things do fall into place if you have the confidence not to give up. I had a hard time "fitting in" and there is nothing wrong with me. You finally learn to do what makes you happy, healthy, and accomplished. Just don't expect to figure out who you are overnight. It takes time and patience, but you may be better off than that cheerleader who's glorified label is more important to her than her own happiness. And you will be ahead of the game if you can get out of the high school game and into real life before you are out of high school.

You sound like you are trying to be someone else rather than yourself. You are yourself and pretty easy to find. Sit down and make a list of what you enjoy. Being alone? Walking in the woods? Listening to music? Reading? Dreaming? Writing?
Drawing? Painting? Just watching tv? Do you have a job or a part time job, if you are old enough? Do you have any ideas as to what you might like to do? Try volunteering at the local soup kitchen or at the local hospital. Just follow your heart and stop worrying about it and you will find you where you always were. Right there. You know, you don't have to have one goal in your life, or just one job. You don't have to know what you want to do or what you want to be...that will just happen. As a matter of fact, I still don't know and I am 52 and a grandmother/wife/mother/worker/dreamer/philospher/reader/walker and lover of life, the universe and everything. I may never know but what does that matter? I am me and I am happy.

Its hard when you're in school, I don't think anyone knows exactly who they are or feels any sense of purpose at that point, you should be trying to enjoy school and friendships at this point, this will all come to you in time I just turned 21 and am still figuring out who I am, still feel like I don't really have a purpose.........But we all do, so I try not to worry about and take each day at a time.

I think you always need a symbol to "know" who you really are. You cannot see yourself directly, you can only see yourself in a mirror - in something or someone that mirrors you. Of course, such a symbol may also reflect what you would *like* to be instead of what you are; but what you would like to be tells you something about what you are.

Perhaps numerology and/or (Eastern) astrology is something for you. These should be complemented, held in check, by philosophical skepticism, though. Message me if you want to know more.

Very good question to which I presume there is no right or wrong answer.

I'd be willing to bet that you (and all of us) will be asking that same question when we are old and gray.

And that in itself may be a partial answer. We never find out who we are because we keep changing, and we keep redefining ourselves in relation to the changing world around us.

It isn't the destination that is important, its the journey.

you don't find who you are, you create it through your stances and actions. you're life is not over so you don't have some complete essence or identity that you can find, you have to make it yourself. finding out what 'category' or pre-made cultural identity you 'belong' to is a waste of time. you're not any category or pre-made identity precisely because what you are is still incomplete and needs to be lived out. you don't find out who are SO that you can find out what is meant for you. you create who you are THROUGH the meanings YOU give you to things through your perceptions, actions, intentions, stances, and world you fashion for yourself. in other words, while it's good to be confused about ones identity (that's a lot better than falsely believing you do fit into one of the groups), your question is nonetheless leading you down a false path that would be a betrayal of what it means to be a person. to be a person is to be 'not-yet', to be incomplete and thus to have to complete oneself.

Reflection...which includes asking yourself a lot of questions about yourself. What brings you joy? Sounds like you may be an artistic type. Also, try something new.
