My medicaid worker says that if my baby's father and I aren't married, I am not obligated to put his information down, even if we are living in the same household. Which seems odd because it says "household's income", not "married couple's income", but she assured me that unless we got married this would be fine and other people have said the same thing was told to them. Talk to your medicaid worker about the situation and see if you can only put your imcome, which is nothing.

First of all your not obligated to report your boyfriend's income when it comes to get medicaid. Try only using your income when applying which I am pretty sure you will get coverage. Also try talking to your local hospitals in what they do for patients who are looking for coverage but have no income or if they know of any faciltities or places that offer insurance to pregnant mothers at a low or no cost at all. Cuz you really need to get to a Dr. especially since your half way through your pregnancy.

Do you have a university hospital where you live? If you do, they usually offer cheaper care for people who can't get insurance. Where I live the hospital has a plan that if you don't qualify for medicaid you can pay $1500 throughout your pregnancy and it pays for prenatal, delivery, tests, and everything else.
You probably won't be able to get on your bf's insurance because you are not married. My husband tried to put me on his insurance before we were married since we lived together, he signed me up under the cohabitation medical insurance. Well, come to find out, you have to be gay or lesbian to qualify for that, so don't even waste your time.
Good luck! Sorry you are having such a rough time. I have heard of people who have lied about their living situation (not including their bf on the paperwork) to get medicaid.

Have you tried Healthy Families? You are not married and even if he lives with you you do not have to use his income to get this insurance. I am on healthy familes and was on WIC and they did not count him. i was considered single. Healthy Families is pretty fair in the income department. I think if you bring in 2800.00 gross a month you can still qualify. Again if you are not married this shouldnt be a problem. They also deduct s certain amount for living costs (Unlike WIC)
I do not know if healthy families is in your area or if the gross will be lower or higher. I live in California
You can also put your child on there, The premiums are low, like less than 20.00 a month
Try it you never know

Sweetie, I hate to tell you this, but even if you got a job the pregnancy would not be covered. Private insurers will not cover any pre-existing conditions for at least a 12-month period from the date coverage begins.
I don't understand why you cannot get Medicaid, though. I can see if you were married, but you refer to him as boyfriend, so you should still qualify. As long as you file taxes separately, you are technically not his dependent.

gosh i hate america! thats just messed up man, i had the same problem, earn enough money to not qualify! but that is hardly enough to live. i just ended up paying upfront for the fees without insurance. i have since left america and gone back home to the uk to have the baby where the medical is free. i would talk to medicaid people again and see what direction they can point u in. good luck and congrats!

Well, you don't have to have insurance to see a doctor, just pay for visits out of pocket--and skip what you can't afford (like ultrasounds).
Or, have bf quit his job so that you qualify for medicaid.
I understand that those may not be the best options, but at this point you haven't left yourself open to the best options, you just have to make do with what you can.

Did you prepare for medicaid formerly you have been pregnant or after? The earnings rules are diverse for pregnant women persons than for time-honored medicaid. i attempted to coach for medicaid for my daughter while she grew to become into 2 yet we did no longer qualify because of the fact we made too lots money. yet when I have been given pregnant with my son we did qualify and we've been making extra money than we made the three hundred and sixty 5 days formerly as quickly as we did no longer qualify.

try www.maternitycard.com they have a good insurance plan for women who are already pregnant... and until some kind of insurance kicks in call planned parenthood or a local pregnancy resource center to see if you can get some kind of prenatal care until your insurance is effective...oh and if a place is refusing to hire you for no other reason other than your pregnancy that is illegal...and you could sue...

If your not married medicaid can't use your boyfriends salary against you...
I just was put on medicaid and they never even asked about my fiance.
They can only base it off how much money you make.
