I am due in August, and am just curious as to how much larger some women's breasts got once their milk came in. I was a 38D before I got pregnant. I have now gone up to a 38DD, and those bras are getting a bit tight now too. Also, for nursing mothers who have larger breasts, what kind of nursing bra do you suggest and what stores carry them? I always have trouble finding regulars bras in my size and I want something with lots of support.

I went from a 36 large C to a 38 E - then went down to a 36 DD and havn't lost anymore even though I lost 25 pounds elsewhere. I went to a department store (I think it was JC Penneys) and they had the nursing bras that had a clip at the top of each cup - they worked great! Also, invest in breast pads, they help prevent leakage.

Well I'm definitely not big breasted by any means...I started out a 34A and by the time I was full blown breast feeding I was a 36C. I found that I had the best luck finding bras at Motherhood Maternity...they carry almost every size imaginable and if they don't have it they can order it for you. They will also help you find the right fit. I'd go with a cotton bra since it breathes the most and you don't want your nipples staying trapped in moisture, trust me. Also avoid underwires if possible as they can cause a blocked milk duct (not to mention they are just plain uncomfortable)

I would recommend you attend some kind of breast feeding class, they can also give you some great pointers when it comes to nursing products.

Good luck and congratulations, my little girl was born in August last year, keep your fingers crossed for a cool summer :)

Your breasts will not get to much bigger than they are at the end of pregnancy. When they are full, you may find them to be larger, but most of the time they won't be.

I bought my nursing bras online, ebay actually. They were new, the one thing I Refuse to buy used.

Motherhood or Sears would have larger nursing bra's. I found the "sports bra" style was best for me. Kept me in place, and stopped me from leaking milk all over my clothes.

I have enclosed 2 web sites that may help.

Just an FYI :

I changed my nursing bra 3 or 4 times a day, so you may need 6 or 8 and wash every other day. ( I threw mine in with baby clothes, so baby didn't have an allergy to my laundry detergent, and then DO NOT DRY.)

My opinion on Motherhood nursing shirts: Don't bother, just use a receiving blanket to cover up with.

Before getting pregnant with my last baby, I was a 36 C. During my pregnancy I went up to a 38 D. During nursing I pretty much stayed 38 D. (except for when I first gave birth, they were beyond humongous!!) I stopped nursing 3 months ago,and my breast are still 36D. I lost all my baby weight, but the breast stayed the same. I wore a bra ALL the time. I am not sure about specific nursing bra's , but I know you should ALWAYS wear a bra. Or else your breast will be susceptible to sag! Good Luck!

When I was nursing, at my largest I wore a cup size of H....I was a size G the longest time frame, and now, years later, I am larger than I was pre-baby....depends on if I'm carrying extra weight or not. Was a D to begin with and I just got HUGE. Hubby didn't mind, but my shoulders sure did. What I wore around the house was a really comfy nursing bra by Bravadodesigns.com, look at their website. Out and about, I usually wore something with a little more support, but you have to be careful, because the more constructed bras can sometimes cause clogged ducts etc....and be very painful. You'll have to use trial and error! Good Luck!

I was a 36D before I got pregnant and went up to 38DD while I nursed. I also had trouble finding regular bras that fit and I tried on just about every maternity bra that was made. It's hard to find a good one that offers enough support. The one I ended up using for three pregnancies was made by Adonna and was only sold at JCPenneys. They have a good selection. However, the only one I ever used successfully can now only be purchased through their catalog. It had thick straps for support and an underwire.

Added info: I just went to the JCPenney website and they no longer carry that nursing bra, but they do have a good selection.

I went from a 38C to a 38F. I ordered my nursing bras from Sears. I recommend getting a few that are like sports bras, but criss cross in the front. They make nursing at home and at midnight a lot easier. For regular/daytime wear look for the ones with individual snaps for each breast. I also found that the ones without under wire were the most comfortable!

hey.i was size 34C when i got pregnant and now that i am feeding my baby my size has dramtically changed to 36D.i know it sounds crazy but thats the size so dont worry and just try to wear regular bra.when you get to your 6th month then buy two normal bras coz that will be your size for the rest of your pregnancy.the best nursing bras are from warners and they easily carry sizes 34,36,38 and 40 and i think at walmart i saw size 42 as well so you dont have to worry about sizes. i cant say much about where you like to shop but walmart sells the cheapest nursing bras.what you can do is go browsing the internet as well for nursing bras and you can find good local shops in your city.take care and enjoy the pregnancy

I went from a 36C to a 40 DD while nursing.
I wore regular bras until my son was born.
Then I went out and purchased a nursing bra in the CORRECT size after the baby was born.

I went from a c to a dd during my pregnancy and they are still a DD and i am breastfeeding for 9 months now. Walmart tends to sell nursing bras in big sizes. General rule of thumb is you will be one cup bigger than before.
