I agree. It gets so irritating sometimes that i get headaches. I just don't have the heart to tell them that their jokes are causing me physical pain.

I gotta coworker like that. He practically yells out obnoxious things he thinks are funny while the rest of us stand around with uncomfortable looks on our faces. We can't even muster fake, patronizing laughter for the guy.

finding a reason to laugh or smile is far more rewarding than finding a reason not to. i will not mock the ignorant, but that doesn't prevent me from having a private laugh at their expense. viewed that way, life is much more fun, IMHO.

As a child, I was very sarcastic. My mother would often scornfully advise me that I was the only one who thought I was funny. My standard reply was, "that's all that really matters."
