It happens quite a bit. And crying is good for you.

It hasn't happened to me in that distant of a time span, but it has happened to me where I couldn't mourn the loss of a very good friend of mine for a few months.
Even then, it was such a releif when I was finally able to break down and cry. I am so glad that you visited his tombstone. If we hold in our emotions for too long, it can be very damaging.
I hope you never ever go that long again without expressing your emotions. Its too painful for your mind and can manifest problems in your body as well.

It didnt happen to me with death exactly, but I did cry because my father abandoned me when I was 9, 10 years later too, when I was 19.

When my grandfather died, i was one of the very few in my family who didnt cry. I just couldnt cry, and i didnt understand why. 6 months later, i was just sitting, in my room, and i just started crying, because i finally realized he was gone. I felt relieved after this, like a burden had lifted, just because i let my feelings out.

Perfectly normal...there are many stages of grief, and this is one of them. Perhaps you finally got over your anger. It is very common!
