Could be a number of thing but probably your game is using up more memory than you have available. When you quit the game, the memory that was in use is released back to the OS for other applications to use.

I'd buy more memory or increase the virtual memory on your machine.

A quantity of the games system is loaded into ram thus reducing available memory. When you close the game it is flushed out of ram thus restoring available memory. If this is a problem you could allocate a bigger section of your hard disc to act as ram.

This could be many things.....1. The memory amount your system has is not enough to support the requirements of the game. 2. The memory in your system is going or has gone bad which means it needs replaced. 3. Your system could have a virus that has infected your memory and you would have to replace the sticks of memory to correct this. Try either upgrading the system memory or replacing it and see if this corrects the issues if not then update the question and let me know. Thanks

You need more RAM, this is where you computer stores things whilst doing anything on the computer. If your playing games then you should really be thinking of having at least 1GB of high quality ram on your computer. You can find RAM fairly cheap on sites such as www.aria.co.uk

games take up memory and therefore ram - when you stop playing the game the ram is free for other work.

Sounds like you need to add more ram to your PC if you are playing those types of games

ROFLMAO. I'm sorry for that, but it's pretty funny. When a computer is using a program, memory space is being used.
