I'm taking a poll of what people everywhere think some of the major flaws of today's society are. I also want people, who have serious ideas/answers, to lend some eye-opening knowedge to the mass population, as to further spread the ripples of a better life for all. What realistic steps can we take to better the way life is lived?

Global Warming. It's a bigger threat than terrorism. We are too late to fully 'fix' the problem, but we absolutly MUST come together as a people to address this issue and start improving it.

The answers are already here, renewables, conservation, etc, all we lack is the collective will to implement these changes. But keep an eye on mother nature for the next several years, the party is just beginning. We are in a Heap O' Trouble guys, a real Heap O' Trouble!

The most wrong thing scilently affecting everyone is, advertisement brainwashing us "you need to have this to be happy" all the time, everywhere.
Many advertisements advocate that
we'll be happier if we buy their product,
we'll be healthier,
we'll be loved by our spouse,
we'll be recognised by friends and family,
we'll be able to be "somebody" only when we wear certain brand of clothing, wear certain shoes, ride certain car.
If we don't spend moeny we cannot express our character, we'll never have a clean home, we'll be depressed, fat, be in love, and your co-workers will look us down.
How serious is that? We have been so brainwashed by the ads, we have kept buying things which are not really usable, we need more money, we need bigger house, we need more and more storage space, we are spending more time to shop and organize things. Also, middle income class feel like they are poor, poor people condem the world, and rich people keep show off with more luxurious product. Frugalism became the word of a past centry.
This is really hard to control, because capitalism is thought to be something about economy to most of us, but the product (of ads) is wearing us out, at a cost of our lives. Mass production of useless (or not much used) things make the Earth sicker, depriving her resources.
Idea to fix it? I'm actually very skeptical, since people who's up to minimalism or eco-friendly keep buying things to prove they are echo-friendly. Yet, important key is to aware the affects of advertisements correctly. (No, we cannot give up the capitalism. Not realistic.) I believe the awareness is the only solution, wish someone read my opinion can come up with better solution. (Please)

World's biggest problems would be Bush and Cheney. Impeachment would go a long way towards fixing the problem
