I wouldn't be too angry if it was an accident, but if it was his fault, then of course you should ask him to pay for the damages. If it was both your fault (say you were both backing up at the same time and didn't see each other), then you will have to pay for the damage on your car, as he would for his.

Both. Id control my anger because (Im hoping) that it wasnt on purpose, and I SHOULD EXPECT him to pay for the damages. I mean... thats my car. If I hit his car, Id pay for the damages for sure.
