You need to find another colleague at the firm who can help you, maybe someone who knows how this guy likes things done. That's hard when you don't understand. Don't be afraid to say so when it's really unclear. You'll have to learn by making mistakes a lot at first, or by taking the initiative to do things the way you think is best. If it's just too unbearable, look for another job. Life is too short to work at a job you hate, and legal secretaries are always in demand!

Ask him to please slow down and speak slower because your English is not very good either (lie. it makes them feel better)
And if he wants you to figure out everything by yourself, do the best you can, and if he says: why did you send all the files in the yellow box, say : I asked you and you said to figure it out myself, so I thought yellow made the most sense.

try to study some russian. I think he will think you are very smart if you can say couple words in Russian and I personaly think it is very nice .
