There are 2 entirely different positions for 1 company that's available. I qualify for both positions and am interested in both. Would it look bad if I sent in an application for both? What would the company think?

Should I acknowledge the fact that I'm applying for two positions in my cover letter?

I'd go for it. It just shows to me, as an employer, that you'd be interested in working for the actual company, not just for the position. Could also show that you're versatile enough to handle 2 diverse jobs (good to use in an interview if they bring it up).

Bad thing, is that it could potentially show the employer that you're just throwing your resume wherever you can, and applying to all the jobs you think you might qualify for.

im sure they will get a lot of apps they might not even notice the same person applied twice but if they do say you would happly get either job beacause all you realy want from them is a step on the ladder then youre shaw with your skills and team work abilitys you will soon be where you wont to be.and that if you got the job that you where over qualified for or outgrown well you can share your skill with the people at that level because you feel you have a lot to teach that should do it come on youll propley get both jobs or 10 time pay or something LOL

would it look bad?...absolutely not!

as long as you are not stretching the truth to try to fit both descriptions, it sounds fine.

they would prefer that you qualify for various positions because it gives them more freedom to put you where they feel you are best suited. and its better for you because you increases your chances of getting a job.

good luck.
