Take these questions to your ob-gyn and ask them. He/she will be able to answer everything you want to know (and some you don't). Better to be accurately informed than misinformed.

WEll there are many side effects to birth control. blood clots come mostly after the age of 30. Nausea, vomitting, headaches, bloating, weight gain, more hair, a lot of things. BUT it does not happen in all cases. A good thing is it will take away your cramps!!! Just talk to a doctor about it he can give you the most info and advice than anybody.Good luck

the contraceptive pill can certainly help your cramping as it usually greatly reduces the amount of flow you experience. there are risks associated with the 'pill' but if you are an otherwise healthy tenager the risks are probably very small, some can lead to weight gain, but it is usually not much and as there are many brands available, you can simply try a few and see which suits you best, you need to talk to your mum and a doctor to decide what is the best treatment for you good luck

You need to visit a qualified professional to answer your questions. Your menstrual problems may be symptoms of other medical issues (such as endometriosis) and should be addressed before using any hormonal therapy. Planned Parenthood is a good place to start if you are not established with a regular gynecologist.
