I ask because I'm watching football but had a hard day. So I am eating chocolate as "comfort". Is it just us girls?

It varies from a person to a person.
It is not necessarily purely a woman thing. There are considerable number of men who adore sweets including chocolate.
However, it is also statistically true that the majority of the consumption of chocolate all over the world is attributable to the existence of women. There is a scientific theory.
All kinds of sweets contain a substance called , "serotonin" which acts as a transmitter in the control of pain and nerves relief.
It is said that as women have their monthly periods, they subconsciously want something sweet more than men normally do.
Another theory is that women in general have less number of taste buds on their tongues than men do. And this leads to the fact that men are usually more sensitive to sweet taste than women are. It means men can sense sweet more than women do, and they don't need to eat sweets so much. On the other hand, women need more sweets than men do.
It may be interesting to note that the consumption chocolate per capita among European white women is bigger than that of Asian women. This is also the result of the difference of the number of taste buds among them. In other words, Asian women have larger number of taste buds.

No I dont think so I just think its more common in women. My boyfriend is worse than me wen it comes to chocolate but I beat him hands down on biscuits

I am a woman and i hate chocolate, i buy it only when i am in a rush for work with a tin of cola and a bag of crisps, (healthy option!)
