I really like the name Ash for a first name, but the only other name that the father and I agree on is Roland. With the last name being Saini, I don't want his initial to be ARS. There is also the option of adding another middle name. We like names that aren't super common, but that people will recognize when they see it. thanks in advance

His father's name is Terry, and that is his full legal name, so we kind of wanted to do that for our son too. Everyone calls me Rosie. My parents knew they would always call me Rosie when I was born but chose to gave me a different name, which I think is kind of silly.

Honestly people, I really don't need advice on the name Ash, it's already pretty much decided. You're just wasting your time trying to convince me that it needs to be Asher, Ashton or anything else.

oh, and the ARS thing is because it kind of looks like ****..... you know? If it was a girl and was more then likely going to change it's name somewhere down the line, I wouldn't be so careful about the initials. But I guess that's just my own immaturity peeling out, and my boyfriend didn't really like the ARS initials either.

I agree on the initials being a bad option. ARS is just asking for trouble. :)
My cousins initials were CDM and she had them on her bookbag in middle school. Her fellow middle schoolers were constantly looking at them and saying, "your initials are condom?" She was so embarassed.
I do like Ash. I am not a huge fan of Roland. I know a little boy who is 5 now and that is his name. He is always called Rolie and Rolie Polie which is also terrible for a child. He gets so upset.
I am not certain on how to pronounce your last name so if they don't flow well I apologize in advance!

Even though I'm on your wavelength when it comes to the ARS part - I don't really think it's bad. People forget that we don't tend to use our middle initials until we get older and even then, like my husband, he only uses his first and last....ie: TF

Aww! My initials are (or were, before I got married) ARS, and I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Now it's ARM, and I'd much rather be ARS than ARM.
I like Asher a lot. You could still call him Ash for a nickname.
