I have taken phenegran with all three of my pregnancies, and my children are fine. Sometimes the meds worked and other times it did not.

I am prescribed Phenergan. It is a pretty good anti nausea medicine. The only side effect I have had is extreme fatigue. You shouldn't drive for several hours after you have taken one

I am currently taking phenargen, at least I have it if I need it. I am only 3 months, but was prescribed it at 7 weeks because of terrible nausea. There were some days that I threw up at least 7 times, and had to call off of work. I only took it 3 times, because it is not yet FDA approved. I am fine now; I only throw up once a day; I only took it then if I threw up twice and was still nauseous.

Metal: really? I just got a script for it today and the doc told me it was non drowsy! Dang, I can't be sleepy all day.
Its a Class B medicine according to my ob. Which means they're considered safe during pregnancy, although definitive study evidence in humans is lacking. Best of luck.

It is very safe during pregnancy....The only thing is that it makes you super drowsy...it will knock you out...They prescribed mine in suppository form and I only used 1/2 at a time because it is very strong....1/2 worked just as well to take the nausea away and still knocked me out....Feel better....Good Luck!

I have taken it for other kinds of nausea, but I've never been preganant. It will probably make you tired/sleepy/drowsy. It has always made me tired.
It does help with the nausea. It comes in many forms - liquid, pills, suppository.

I took it for morning sickness in early pregnancy. It can be either a pill or a suppository, and I took the pill. I only take about half of one, though, because a whole one will put me to sleep!

I got really bad morning sickness in my 2nd trimester and lost a lot of weight so my DR gave me some, i wouldnt take it though because it completely knocked me out. If youre not getting sick I wouldnt take it but its completely up to you. Remember your DR wont give you anything that will hurt your baby. Good luck!

I've always heard of phenergan as a codeine based cough medicine, not as a nausea medicine. Maybe you have the name wrong? Codeine is NOT good for the baby. I'd avoid anything you don't have to take - suck on some citrus candies, drink some ginger ale, and just deal with it for the next 6 weeks. It sucks, but better to be nauseous than to take something that can harm the baby!

If your doctor okay'd it, I would take it. If you cant keep anything down.......it would be better to take the medicine and be able to eat than to throw everything up and there be no nourishment for your child.
