I think the advice about hiring a real estate agent is sound. Some high crime areas to avoid:

Pine Hills
Parramore
Metro West
Tangelo Park
Richmond Heights

I live in the Jacksonville Florida area, your neighbor just to the north. I am in real estate. The BEST advise I can give you is that if you want to buy a home, to use a real estate agent. Realtors can give you more info than you ever wish you could have. They know their citys like the back of their hand. I have freinds in Orlando, if you need help or want the name of someone, visit my website at www.thelandryteam.com, you can contact me through their. GOOD LUCK

Metro west is a bad area.It makes the news atleast a couple of times a week and not for citizens of the week. The area in kissimmee called BVL is another area to avoid ( Its one big drag strip with no rulles). If you are renting, rent in an area with on property management.Have fun.
