If you don't have any coolant leaking inside or outside the truck then it's a very simple problem to fix..and should not cost you alot of money if you can do it yourself ..just change your thermostat..the reason it is working sometimes and not on other times is because it's sticking open..if it sticks open then the coolant can't warm up..so it is allways running cold..the way a thermostat works is that once your car gets to a certain temperature ."usually on the thermostat" then it opens up and starts to cool the motor and in turn warming up the liquid..get yourself a good all season thermostat usually for a ford truck would be 190-205 degrees..if you want to change it yourself should be simple just follow the big hose from your rad to the engine and you will see a metal housing held on with 2 nuts..remove these two nuts and remove the old thermostat and replace it with a new one .."in the same position" you may need a new gasket as well..or you can use RTV silicone..i would get a new gasket for a few dollars..

Are you saying that the blower motor works intermittently or the heat is going from hot to cold? Check the temp gauge on the SUV and notice where it is when this happens. Is it in the normal range or low? It could be a thermostat that is sticking open, low coolant, temperature sensor going bad, or a vacuum leak on your heater control valve.
If the fan cuts off and on, it could be a bunch of things. Did you have the error codes ran to see if there are any that might point you in the right direction?

If it won't even work on high, its most likely the actual blower motor that's bad. I know how you feel, I have a child myself. If you can't fix it in time, what I used to do was get an empty jug of milk or something, fill it up with hot water, put it in the carseat for bout 10-15mins before take off to warm up the seat for my daughter when she was just a baby, then just cover her up real good w/ warm blanket after I put her in the seat. Good luck. EDIT: btw, just bc the fuse looks ok, doesn't mean it's not burnt. I've never actually seen a "burnt" fuse. I'd get a fuse tester (only bout $5 at autozone) and test the resistence on the fuses...unless that's how you checked them, I wouldn't even bother replacing the blower motor or anything else. EDIT#2: this makes some sense...what happened last winter is your resistors went bad, which would make it run on high only...since you guys never replaced them, it might have overworked the blower motor because it constantly ran on high, now the blower motor is bad.

when my heater began to act up it was because the heater core went out and needed to be replaced. I have a 1994 Ford Explorer and the part had to be factory ordered.

My heater in my 1994 Ford Explorer doesn't heat. We changed the thermostat and heater core (new ones) and it still doesn't heat up, it just blows cold air. The radiator had a pin hole and we fixed that. So what else could it be? Please let me know..........because we need HEAT.
Thank you.

This is usually a sign of low coolant level, check the radiator when it's cold and add some if needed. If all is OK try a radiator flush and see if that helps
