Gays and Lesbians have the same right as the rest of us do:

WE ALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO MARRY SOMEONE OF THE OPPOSITE GENDER!

A gay man may marry a woman.
Just as a straight man may marry a woman.

A lesbian woman may marry a man.
Just as a straight woman may marry a man.

NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW!

If gays complain about straights we have to take it, but if straights complain about gays we're chastised and prejudice. See, she is correct, the rights are not equal.

you have the right to marry a partner and give them all legal rights as your spouse. They can make medical decisions for your, they have the right of inherincy and many other LEGAL rights of partnership.

A gay partnership cannot give those rights to their partner. A sick or dying gay man or woman cannot have their partner make medical decisions on their behalf. They must go through layers of paperwork to ensure they their partner inherits their wealth, and still must deal with legal fights with the dead partner's family.

Marriage is both a religious and a legal partnership. As a legal partnership it provides a number of very important rights to a spouse. While you may not agree with the morality of the gay marriage, a gay union would provide them the LEGAL rights that a long-term couple deserve.

The gays already have churches that will marry them....the marriage license is just a tax and insures that their partner may have legal rights...Who cares let them get married...let them pay their share of taxes too.

But for a lesbian to marry a man means that she is marrying someone she is not attracted to.

What good is getting married if it isn't to somebody to whom you are attracted?
