This is the second time that Kobe has been suspended for flailing his arm after taking a shot. Does he really think he can get away with such a blatant foul by saying it's part of his shot? What a punk. No class

I am a Laker fan, but more than that, I am a basketball fan. I think Kobe should not have received the same exact punishment for the second offense as he did for the first. The penalty should have been doubled and doubled again each time he does it.

Flailing the arms and legs, throwing yourself on the floor, yelling when an opposing player get close to you, all in an effort to draw a foul, has gotten out of hand.

The refs are the ones who are made to look like fools when they call a phantom foul, like when a guy flops. Instead they should start handing out T's for delay of game to the guy who flops.

Yes Kobe is wrong, but the refs, in my opinion, have a responsibility to control all the antics and they don't.

I won't stoop to the level of some on here who call others insulting names. Really bright! What I will add is that a follow through goes forward toward the basket, Kobe swung his arm sideways and backward after completing his follow through. That is not a follow through.

If you want to watch the UFC or WWF fine, but this is the NBA were talking about. Some actions are not allowed and they are punished.

As far as being innocent until proven guilty, that only applies in a court of law. Outside of the court room that does not apply, especially in this case where we are talking about a flagrant foul not a crime.

Come on, give me some more thumbs down.

You are an idiot!!!

Now I know what the word Hater means. Do you play basketball? Do any of you play basketball? Iverson, Anthony, James, Wade, Dirk, McGrady, any player that has a one-on-one game, does that. It's called trying to get a foul.

No you IDIOT, you shouldn't get a delay of game technical for trying to draw a foul.

This is a decent question, followed by a bunch of retarded answers. The poster who said it's an unconcious habit is correct. I play basketball, I often go one-on-one, and it's something you were taught at a young age, and is second nature. Kobe has done this since High School (first time I saw him play) and this isn't the first time someone has gotten hit. But because it was Manu (who does it too, by the way...watch him drive) and he hit his face...he gets suspended. Stu Jackson needs to get off his thumb, and let Kobe play.

It's not a foul, it is a follow through. Damnit...I can't remember, but someone got poked in the eye on a follow through like what Kobe does. There was no fine there was no suspension.

Is it Dirty play however? I don't know, I would say more underhanded, I wouldn't say dirty. But it is very common. You make it seem like Kobe is the only one who does it. And all your answerers show their bias when they mention his personal life. That has nothing to do with the incident the poster is asking about.

And this is America, innocent until proven guilty, he was never proven guilty...therefore we all must assume his innocence. Those of us that don't are hypocrits to the American way.

He's trash. He's a very dirty player. Just cause someone came close to blocking your shot you elbow him in the face. That's bull$hit. He should be suspended for at least five games. And there's no way that was part of his shot. Who throws their arms out to the side after they shoot? Nobody, they follow through with their arms straight up after they shoot. He's very classless and a rapist as well. The NBA needs to do something about that, not just suspend him for one game, but fine him. He thinks he's hot $hit, and he's not. Anybody could score 30 or 40 points a game if they shot the ball 50 times a game. He's a selfish, dirty, classless player.

i don't know about him being an "extremely dirty" player, but he definitely gives some cheap shots and he is definitely classless...he just doesn't respect any of his peers and is ready and willing to question them for things he has already done or would definitely do if given the opportunity(example, he criticized gilbert arenas for taking too many shots after gilbert dropped like 58 on the lakers, while completely disregarding the fact that arenas had 8 assists in the game AND that kobe himself had had an 81 point game the past season with only 2 assists)

There are only a handful of dirty players in the NBA. They include Artest, Josh Howard, and of course, Kobe. They all have no class and always want attention.

Are you serious??? I'm a die hard twolves fan and have had season tickets since the twolves have been in Minnesota. I honestly don't think Kobe was trying to do that because no one thinks that fast in the heat of the moment to try and knock someone out. I think the 2nd time he did it only proves that it's some kind of unconscious reaction...he's not intentionally doing it.

Why does Kobe get a suspension while Lebron James gets nothing for doing the exact same thing?
