didnt appear, twice I asked it, in different ways, but both times I posted a link, so maybe this is why my question didnt show. It was a link for BBc news about a bloke in Edinburgh who savagely kicked and stomped on a dogs head so badly that the toddler he was with was sick.He then threw it in the car and drove off. What should happen to him if he gets caught?

they should tie the stupid bas**rd up, and slowly torcher him in the worst way thinkable, but keep, him alive so the p**ck can feel the pain that the dog felt.
but knowing 2days law, he will probably get a couple of hours community service.
people like that man make me sick, doing that 2 a dog in the first place is unbelievable but to do it in front of a toddler, well that really is disgusting.

Cruelty to animals is, unfortunately, a matter that receives little attention compared with other matters in the press but your question asked what should happen to the man who kicked and stamped on a dog's head. Immediate thought says retribution by some other means than the courts but this is the only avenue we have in this Country and Scotland. These people are sick. I knew a man (now deceased) who kicked a pigeon in Bolton square who was heavily fined - and pigeons are considered unworthy. Dogs?

Lets hope he gets caught! And sent to prison for 10 years! Plus, he must take empathy courses or he can't be released when he's done his time!
And the child he had with him to watch this violent abuse should be removed from his custody as he sets a bad example as the child's guardian to which it makes me wonder if he abuses the child... & if that's so he should do more time in the slammer!!!!
Those who harm the innocent just because they're bigger & think they can get away with being a bully or worse need to be taught the consequences of their deplorable actions!
Sorry, but I'm not very forgiving today.

This crime is disgusting! If you google cruelty to animals or anti-cruelty to animals it shows this problem & worse happens all over the world.
In my country, Canada, an MP submitted a petition to Parliament with more than 110,000 signatures calling for the government to change the inadequate animal cruelty law, because of the Oct. 8th, '06 incident towards a Lab-border collie named "Daisy Duke", who had all four legs bound, a bag pulled over her head, duct tape wrapped around her snout & a rope tied around her neck and then dragged behind a vehicle for one Kilometre before being left on the road to die slowly of a broken neck, back & pelvis! She was discovered by another motorist after following her trail of blood. She was taken to the nearest vet, who had to immediately euthanize her. Her abuser/murderer is her 19 yr. old male owner who had a 17 yr. old accomplice. Both have been charged & if found guilty could recieve a sentence of only a maximum six months in jail or a $2000 fine. However in Canada, maximum sentences are rare.
Bill S-213 is on the plate to debate a new cruelty law, but the Canadian public want an Ontario liberal MP's updated bill, Bill C-373, to replace the other bill, because it takes what happened to Daisy Duke & other innocent animals, who suffer from deviant abusers seriously, and will toughen the cruelty laws of Canada! Offenders would be sentenced to an increase of maximun jail time to five years "with" a maximum fine of $10,000! The debate rages on as of Feb.26, 2007.
But from all indications, Canada will be changing the current outdated law to reflect the true brutal crime of Animal cruelty soon! All it takes is one incident to outrage the public, & one strong leader to take forth a petiton to create action from government leaders. This could be England, Scotland, even all West European's future too! All it takes is one person to be outragged & put pen to paper! Make it happen for the sake of all beings including that poor child who's caught in the middle, due to an uneducated bloke, who uses fear & violence to lord over the defenseless innocent!!!
I hope they find that *******so 'n so & treat what happened to that defenseless pup & the trauma to that poor innocent child seriously! Give him the maximum penalty if nothing else & try to change the current laws so others will heed the publics warning of rath when it comes to animal cruelty.

Don't know about why your Q did not appear but it sounds like that guy should be dealt with swiftly and fuiously! Just because you CAN abuse a being that is 100's of times smaller than yourself does NOT give you the right to!!!

I just went and read it, and I think the dog should be given to a nice and caring home, and the child should be given to a nice caring home, and the man should be put into a horrible uncaring prison and live a life subjected to beatings and torment, worse than the one's he's subjected the dog and boy too.

i don't think they should do the same to him. but they should put him away for a very long time for what he has done to the mentality of that little boy!
