Apparently, it's wrong of me to put political t-shirts on my three year old. My child cannot read, the shirts are NOT vulgar, and any idiot knows the points expressed on the shirt are mine, not hers. She does not have her own money, she does not buy her own clothing.

With that said, why is it wrong of me to put those shirts on her, but not wrong of other mothers to get their own three year olds perms, or baby bikinis, or "future hottie" t-shirts that are so popular??

Let's not forget the "If you think I'm cute, you should see my Mom" shirts that a lot of kids her age wear..

Yes, I express my political beliefs through TWO of my daughters MANY MANY shirts she owns.

So, is it more wrong for a mother to buy her child shirts of a political nature, or for a mother to start teaching her child very early on that all that matters in the world is how she looks?

Well, honestly, why not wear your own political tshirts? I would never in a million years start teaching my children that a god exists or put god shirts on them. They have free will and a clean fresh mind that shouldn't be tainted. Let them make their own choices as to what shirts to buy, and let them wear politically charged shirts when they are teenagers with a point of view. I dont' think parents should put their kids in beauty pagents, or perm their hair or put earrings in them, or force them to be vegetarian, or go to church or dress them in political tshirts either. Let little kids just be little kids, not placards for the mom and dad's hopes and dreams, lost or otherwise.

it's a free country!! I think the perms, 'future hottie', looking sexy is too much for a baby/child. How people look is not the best thing to teach a child. It's bad enough when they get to high school!!! you don't need them to be that way for life! political views can change - shallowness can't.

I saw your last question,I feel that she is your daughter you buy her clothes and she is your responsibility.I feel that people need to concentrate less on what a child is wearing and more on the children who dont even have enough clothes, children who are abused and neglected day in and day out from their own parents. She is your daughter you raise her as you see fit

I once saw a t-shirt worn by a 12 year old girl that said "you can't touch this it's Billy's" although I wouldn't wear it myself, I was not offended by it. Like I said before, I think everyone should leave everyone else alone. Live and let live.

Hm, I keep meaning to get Alani the "My Mom is a real b*tch" shirt.

Let people think the way they want..you're doing a good job, and if they can't handle it, f*ck them.

If they are too young to read what is on the shirts, It doesn't matter enough to get angry about, it just seems that way because you are irritable at this time of the month.
This too shall pass.

as long as the shirts aren't vulgar I don't see any problem. Don't let the ppl telling you they are get to you, tell them to kiss you ___!

I say it is your kid, wear what you want on her. People just need to mind their business in today's society.
