My "Ex" was there for me in a weird way ... I guess it was most like the movie, "Our of Africa". Yes, he gave me only what he was willing to do ... without it, my time of need would have been much worse ... however, I saw his ability to give so much more, and therefore saw his efforts as coming short. I guess I put him in a place where he could only fail. I hate seeing ppl fail.
I guess if he stepped up to my expectations - then his selflessness would show there was "true love" there. Yes, I was blessed with "love", just not "true love". I still have hope to find the one who can put his needs aside for something greater. I've tried to lower my standards - but oooft --- I was miserable. Isn't relationships supposted to bring joy and family? Guess it all worked out for the best.

My ex-husband was never there for me and I learned to do for myself. Even when I had a breast cancer scare, he was too busy having lunch to come to the hospital to be with me.
My new man is always there for me. He listens to me and actually cares very much what I have to say - even if it's not something that he wants to hear. I'm having to learn to open up to him rather than keep my feelings to myself. I do love the fact that my thoughts and dreams are important to him. I know that he wants the best for me and for us. He makes me feel secure anmd to me that's a wonderful and amazing thing.
