I like my eyebrows to be thick, bushy, not trimmed or too plucked and nice and neat looking. When I get my eyebrows done the technician always does what they want with them by making them skinny, the wrong shape and weird looking. I just want them cleaned up but I love the nice clean line that wax creates so I keep trying different salons hoping someone will get them right. I have been lucky just once though and when I went back the woman screwed me up. I have attempted doing them myself but I am unsatisfied with my performance. I want what I want and that is neat natural, thick and clean eyebrows (if I were a man that's how people would do them instead of the ugly skinny surprised look they always give me). What should I do I am thinking of going to a barbara shop...surely they are experienced with doing men's eyebrows? This is a superficial question but every woman knows that feeling she gets when she looks in the mirror and see's her eyebrows will be a mess for the next 3 months...?

LOL I know the suprised look you are talking about. I had the same experiences and finally got it right. I went to Sallys Beauty Supply (I think they sell the stuff at Ulta or any makeup beauty store) You want to get one of these eyebrow stencil kits. This kit comes complete with stencils to hold up to your eyebrows and you tweeze around it. It will also come with some eyebrow wax strips and a brush and powder for your eyebrow color. This kit is awesome and I honestly have gotten a lot of compliments since I started using this. You can also get it on ebay type in eyebrow stencil and it should pull up a bunch of the kits!

I would say that although you do not like the way that they look when you do it, you should keep trying. Eventually you will get it perfect and then you can continue doing it yourself. If you are trying new people all the time, this is a better option because you will improve. Also do you have long brows? You might consider using scissors and wax. That way you take off only what you want. Lastly, Sally Hanson (spelling?) makes some wonderful guides that you put on your eyebrows so you get the perfect shape. Hope this helps.

i don't get my eyebrows done because of that reason. i like them in a specific shape and thickness so i find it easier to do it myself. granted, i am OCD about my eyebrows and do them everyday now, but at least i know theyre perfect the way i like them.
i suggest you keep trying. i know it's not fun walking around with funky eyebrows, but they will grow back! draw the shape you want on with a white pencil and tweeze away. i am not a fan of waxing, but if that is what you prefer, then try it out. waxing is a little more tricky than tweezing though. just be careful where on the brow line you are tweezing from. pay attention to the root of the hair because that is where you line will be. it takes a little practice, but you'll see it's not too bad.
good luck!

barber shop, not barbara shop you fool.
you have the right idea about eyebrows, if you have thick eyebrows naturally, thin ones always look stupid. and i hate it how everyones eyebrows make them look constantly suprised. bushy sounds a bit odd though.
the only way to get the clean line yourself is to get a white eyeliner pencil and draw the line where you want your eyebrows to end, comb all the hair above that up, you could put vaseline on them to keep them up. then pluck eyerything below. wipe away the eyeliner and vaseline, and comb your eyebrows and there you go, thats the look your after.

I had a similar problem but I would break out from the wax they used. After about 10 different salons I started buying my own Sally Hansen Wax at wal-mart $4.95 I can shape and do my eyebrows myself when I want how I want and I don't break out. You take the strip of wax, cut it to the shape you want and warm it in your hands. Put it on your brows, bikini line, lip anyware and rip it off. Done perfect. :) beautiful
Oh and you can get about 25 or more uses per box.

Just pluck them into the shape you like, then maintain.
Also communicate with your eyebrow person more, if they don't do a good job tell them why you don't like it and ask them to remember it. Also take a picture of your eyebrows the way you like them, and show them that when you go in.

go to a beauty suply shop and buy a facial waxing kit to do it on your own its realy not that hard to do yourself it may take you a few times to get used to doing it but its better than going out and paying to get it done when your paying for something you dont want if u mess up and get the wax in a spot you dont want it wait till it hardens and scrape it away with a litle bit of litoin useing your fingernails.

You should probably stay with the salons and tell them what u want. If they do it wrong complain until they give u ur money back. THey have no right to do to your face what they want.
