I have not had a child yet...but any day now...We learned in prenatal class that only 11% of women's water breaks right before labour. The majority have to have it artificially ruptured during labour. Walking will not cause your water to break. If you are lying down in bed, and your water does break, it will gush as the baby's head is not acting like a cork. If you are walking and your water does break, it will trickle, since the head acts like a cork. Hope this helps...

#1 broke at the hospital on its own, after hours of contractions
#2 Md broke 5 minutes before birth
#3 Broke in the middle of the night, no contractions. Had to be induced because there is only a certain length of time allowed after the water breaking and delivery.

Most womens water doesnt break until their labor has been started for a while so a lot of times it happens in the hospital. I think the statistic says 15% of women have their water break before labor starts.

my ex had been making me follow him around the house for awhile, chasing him to get chocolate or something! I then had a shower, and was laying on my bed, and POP!
