It keeps going up the willow tree collecting sticks in a little pile in the tree. Could it be building a dray? It's not building anything just making a pile. Do you think it's collecting them to build it somewhere else? and ISN'T IT EXCITING.

Squirrels will transport items to a staging area, to be moved to another location later, I've seen it happen before. It's exiting, until they break into your house and find your Reese's pieces stash. And they will find them!

More entertaining squirrel fun...

get a neat little device called a Squngee!

YOu hang it from a branch of a tree so the bottom of it is a few feet off the ground and attach 2 ears of corn to the bottom. It's a little bungee cord type of contraption. The squirrels jump on and swing about wile nibbling off the bits of corn. It's entertaining and feeds the squirrels while distracting them from your bird feeders!

Everyone wins!

I'm sure she is building a nest. Your lucky were I live the squirrils live underground so we dont get to see them running around in the trees....then again we dont have any trees in this part of Texas.

Don't they build nests of sticks? It is a little early in the season where I am (it has been snowing off and on all day), but maybe it is warmer where you are and there is Spring in the air. It is exciting. New life!!!!!

Yes, it's exciting... my little dog does laps around the pool chasing the squirrels... best thing to do is get a pellet rifle. As soon as they see it, they run... no need to shot.
