Islam is a chief offender. Also....
The Kanna'im (Jewish) promotes the killing of backsliders who marry outside of the faith.
Shi'ites in Iraq, today pay for the stupidity of their predecessors who inflected religious persecution on Baha'i.
It's not only religion, however, it is a part of some legal systems for other forms of willful seperation from a bond.
Haiti: Article 269 of the Penal Code states that "in the case of adultery as provided for in Article 284, the murder by a husband of his wife and/or her partner, immediately upon discovering them in flagrante delicto in the conjugal abode, is to be pardoned."
Many religions promote all kinds of things but some people have the sensibility to act properly. Most of those people are agnostic.

Exodus 22:20 prescribes the death penalty for following another religion.
Deuteronomy 13:1-10 prescribes the death penalty for attempting to convert an Israelite to another religion.
As these are both books in the Pentateuch (Torah), that means that both Judaism and Christianity prescribe the death penalty for converting away.

Yes, Muslims are to be put to death if leaving their faith, what is more interesting is that Obama was born to a Muslim father, automatically making him one also in the eyes of that religion. He is a practicing Christian....could make good will trips to the mid east an adventure!!

Not being religious myself, I have to ask: is this from the Koran? I must assume so because of the reference to "Allah" and not "God." If this is true, this is very interesting - I didn't know the Koran specifically calls for the murder of nonbelievers.

That would be Islam... I know of no other faith that would execute someone for leaving their religion.
That said, it really only is applied in wacko governemnts.
to the person above me-- Chritianity does not advocate killing somebody who leaves the faith. Certainly not Catholicism.
