You body had been waiting 12 years to give you your monthly cycles. It is still possibly just settling down. When I first started I had periods it took a while to settle. Then after a year so it lasted anything from 4-8 weeks, and only had 2-3 a year. After many scans, and tests doctors said nothing was wrong, and reccomended the pill to help regulate them, it worked. Talk to your mum, she'll help you, mine stood by me all the time. Good luck.

Don't be worried about this. Things like this used to happen to me a lot. I got my period around 13 too. Sometimes my period would come, and sometimes it would take one or more months to come. I was also scared about this, but my mom and I went to a doctor, and the doctor told me that it's normal for a person to be irregular. It takes time for you to be regular, and the doctor did tell me that I would probably be ok when I have my first baby. But still, I keep having irregularities. I do get my period, but sometimes it lasts longer than usual. Like I said, nothing is wrong with you, but for your own safety, talk to your mom about it, and maybe you can go in and see a doctor, just so the doctor can re-assure you that you are ok, and it happens to many girls. I know there is nothing better than to hear it from a professional. But like I said, don't worry cause many of us girls have gone through that. Good luck.

Probably nothing wrong, specially if you've been run down lately. But it's probably wise to go and check with your GP. You can always ask to see a woman doctor if you're more comfortable with that. You could ask your Mum about it too - prepare for a lifetime of discussing such problems in a confidential way with friends etc.! I'm still having period problems, have had 2 children and am 47 years old and I still check things out that are worrying me with friends. You don't have to worry alone.

Periods are funny things, especially when you are 13. It takes a while for them to get on a regular schedule, because your body is changing faster now than at any point in your life. Stress, the flu, weight gain or loss, and much more can make your cycles weird. Don't worry, most likely you are totally normal. Tell your mom, or another woman, we all get them.

I think this could be normal at your age. But you do need to see the doctor. He would give you pills to regulate the bleeding.
