In addition, think about names from a specific country or language that is in your ancestry. My wife and I have Scottish/ Irish/English ancestors so we picked Ian for our son's name.
Also, do you want a gender neutral name? I was Pat growing up. (Anyone ever see the SNL 'Pat' skits? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It's_Pat) Now I prefer Patrick because there's no doubt that Patrick is a male name. I received lots of mail addressed to Patricia when I was younger. Some names are easily switched to nicknames over time? Many people might never use the actual name and use the nickname instead.

there a million names out there... and millions of websites also... think about a few names you like, how many syllabols you want the name to have, if you want it to end with y n... think about family names.. if you think of name you like scream it out loud and see how you sound screaming it... also imagine your child as an adult too when pickin a name... and consider what the name is gonna sound like with the last name he or she is going to have.
