With the start of daylight saving's time being in the winter this year, there's no way to remember which way the clock goes! It used to be "Spring ahead (forward), fall behind (back)" Now that daylight saving's time starts in the winter, how are we going to remember?

Guys! Spring isn't a "temperature range." It is a quarter of the Earth's orbit. It starts March 21.

NO, the advancement of daylight savings time is proving to be a costly expense on the clocks of medical devices. Normally these would have changed by themselves whenever it was that they were supposed to, but now must have software patches or manual change then changed again in April then again in October & again in November because the internal program for 2 changes must now do 4 changes & that can only be accmplished manually or patch. Thank You Mr. Bush

???

And which of those changes is nearest spring?

Which is nearest fall?

Are you really completely flummoxed by this?

I'm surprised you're able to use a computer and type, if this completely throws you off.

The one coming up, which is just a few days away from spring is the one you go forward.

Edit: The more I think about it, the more I realize you're wrong in your Additional Details.

ONE meaning of 'spring' has to do with the equinox and calendar and all.

But that's only one use of the word. (Many words have more than one meaning, and a lot of people seem to have difficulty with this concept -- especially when one of those definitions is technical; that doesn't make the other uses of the word wrong.)

We ARE having spring where I am.

We're no longer having winter weather. The plants are springing out of the ground and blooming.

Do you think of yourself as going to 'work'? 'Cause according to the physicists, the word means force applied to matter. Is everyone who uses the word in the ordinary language sense wrong?

Does the expression "Spring came late that year" make your brains cells freeze up?

I think March 11 is close enough to March 21 that we can still use "spring forward" as our mnemonic. Don't be ignorant.
