I'm an Irish dancer and I need to get a solo dress soon. Solo dresses are the really pretty ones that don't look like any other Irish dancing dress. Do you where I could get one, like a website or something like that?

Congratulations on hitting your prizewinner rank!!! Nothing is more fun than earning that first solo dress! First before you get any dress, make sure you run your choices by your TCRG and make sure she approves of your selection. :)

You can purchase lots of used dresses at the different Feisanna you attend, there is usually at least ONE vendor (if not more) with a good selection to choose from. This is nice because you can actually try it on first :-).

If you want to find one over the net, here are a few good sites:

http://www.dance-again.com/ - a great site for used dresses!

http://www.celticoriginals.com/solodresses.asp - a beautiful array of newly designed dresses. These will be new but will cost $1000 + , very beautiful, ornate and costly! (well worth it in my opinion!)

Personally, I would hit vintage shoppes or consignment stores. You know what they say about "one man's trash being another man's treasure." Even Goodwill Stores here in the states are full of great finds. Put a fairy wreath of fresh flowers around your hair. I can just see you now, a virtual Cinderella!
