I'm not one to say mean things to people but Bruinschick91 what are you talking about!?!? Firstly, Boston and Buffalo are in the same conference so they are NEVER going to play each other in the Stanley cup finals and secondly Boston is not even in the top 8 so unless they get ahead of Toronto, Carolina, Montreal and NY Rangers before the end of the season they aren't even going to be in the playoffs.
Sorry just had to clear that up!

I think it's harder to say than in any other year. The answers above (well except for one) are very reasonable, and I gave some of them thumbs-up, I don't understand where the thumbs-down are coming from.
I feel that the East will almost certainly have New Jersey or Buffalo, the West is a lot harder to call, all 8 teams nearly have the same type of personnel, record, and statistics.
I will continue to go with Anaheim over New Jersey, these are the teams with "playoff-tested" Goaltenders and Defenses. But nobody's pick upstairs (well again except for one) would surprise me.

I am a huge Duck fan, but Pronger can't BUY a good foot this year. The second line of Getzlaf, Perry and Penner seem to be gellin. But on the PP it seems that Penner, Getzlaf and Selanne do the deed. But I have to say the moves that Brian Burke made (like getting Jackman and Parros, ugh) and trading Shane O'Brien (what a dumb move that was) and then getting Brad May. I mean WTF!!!
Anyway, I want Selanne to get his ring and there is a 90% chance he will retire this year without it. Too bad!!! He deserves one, but I don't think the Ducks will do it this year. But watch out for that second line Penner, Perry and Getzlaf next year.
BTW...Why is it that none of you guys talk anything about Penner? He's a rookie too you know. I think he's 3rd in rookie scoring and 2nd in ppg by a rookie. Hmmmm!!! Shhhhh! Guess its best to just perform and NOT be noticed. Plus, he's a STUD in the playoffs.
Back to the question: I think it will be Preds and Lightning.

San Jose Sharks.
They have a solid team with one of the best powerplays and one of the best 1-2 punch players in Marleau and Thornton. They have 2 starting goaltenders in Nabby and Vesa. They have depth, youth and size. They upgraded their defense by adding experience and leadership with Craig Rivet. They also now have another awesome winger in Bill Guerin to add to their arsenal of attacks! They are on a small winning streak right now, and will put it all together and make a run for the division lead real soon. And next year....watch out for Devon Setoguch

Too tight to call. Buffalo and NJ are the teams to beat in the east, but Anaheim, SJ, Nashville and Detroit all have legitimate shots in the west.
I'm going to say Buffalo will beat Anaheim to take the championship. Ask me again after the 1st round is complete!

Ottawa/Nashville.....I think that Ottawa has a very good team showing a lot of potential for the east, and I think Nashville does the same for the west. Buffalo will choke like they always do, and anahiem will get taken out second round. Be nice to see the sharks get far too.

Vancouver and Ottawa. It could happen. Or how about Vancouver and Buffalo? These 2 teams entered the league at the same time, so wouldnt that be a good one?

in my opinion it is to early to say,it is a tight race in the points. i would like to see buffalo sabres go this year to the finals in the east and i would like to see the redwings go in the west.i am a redwings fan and my husband is a sabres fan.we already have a big rivalry going on in college football why not make it hockey too!!!!!!but seriously i think the race is to close to call right now.everybody can say i know so and so will go but look at the points the leader changes every time nashville, buffalo and the redwings play.who knows look at what edmonton did last year!!!!!we will just have to wait and see
