You have to give more info like when it freezes. but ya it can I just got done fighting a 1 year battle with mine and It ended up being my on-board video card. I would look in more places then a virus like a program recently installed or a hardware issue if it is new then I would say look in to your hardware.

A good online scanner is www.trendmicro.com and use the link for Housecall. It is free, and really very effective. It can also tell you if there are other issues. Make sure you keep your firewall, virus scanner and spy scanner up to date and running. And if this is your first computer, or the first in a long time, don't download everything you think is neat or cool. Go to cNet.com and Download.com for reviews and hints on how to keep your computer in shape. Sign up for some of their online free computer courses. They can be very helpful.

It is probably related to having viruses, if you just got it a few months ago. Do a complete virus scan and remove detected viruses. Never go online without virus and spyware protection; especially to play games and to naughty sites (not that you would go there, but some people do). Those are the worst sites for giving your computer viruses.
