A state department man, Armitage, did it. She was not in a category where her name could not be released. This was all a political attack by Wilson.

Armitage leaked to Novak but only identified her as "Joe Wilson's" wife. Novak looked it up and found the name Valerie Plame. He had it verified by Karl Rove. If I have the timeline right. Cheney was later, a little. I need a chart!

Somehow the Vice President of the United States is exempt from that sort of thing in that manner. He would need to be impeached and removed from office otherwise wait until he's out of office to bring charges on him.

He wasn't prosecuted because Plame does not meet the criteria for a covert operative.

Dick Cheney. Unless you're trying to say it was Novak, but he had to have been told by someone in the government.

Dick "shotgun" Cheney. Hopefully, it's just that he hasn't been charged YET.
