HELP, i have a sony ericsson w550i and i have tried 4 different sim cards, but it says insert sim still help?

i thought it need unlocking, but i have tried cleaning, and tried vodafone which its locked to and orange, o2 and tmobile too it says intert sim still, took to market to get it unlocked but they say it need a new sim reader, but it costs, does anyone, know where cheap one or can repair it cheaply, help,

have tried software from sony ericsson as well, still did'nt work

If you have tried cleaning the sim chip,and the pin contacts, then it may need a software upgrade if you go to www.sonyericsson.co.uk support. Its possible it could be a botched unlock job.
