i guess i'm just so into what everyone else wants, and trying to help them understand that they can make it happen. i don't know what i want, because i'm letting others choose the things i want for me. i'm so tired of letting my parents push me around, i want to be the one to choose what i want to do with my life, where i want to live. INCLUDING where i want to go for highschool. but how do i tell them?? i've never been a good socaliser when it comes to family conversations. espeshally with my dad. he makes me do everything i don't want to do. he just puts in all these other options, i just get confused. what should i choose? how can i be able to make my own choices when i don't even know what i want?

I say research the schools in your area and find one that has a program that fits what you want to do in your life. Present it to him as an "opportunity" school. As a parent we want our children to succeed. Sometimes in order for children to succeed they must be given the chance to make their own decisions. If your basis for wanting to go to a different school is because they offer a better program that fits in with your life goals, they should stand behind you 100%. Now if you want to go to a school because someone else is going there, you wont get very far in life.

Just stand your ground. Ask to speak to your parents. Sit them down and talk to them. Dont yell or scream. A very well laid plan is usually all it takes for my children to get to do what they want- but it has to in the long run benefit them.

If options are what your dad likes, research 3 schools that you would pick from and give them the pros and cons. The more adul you act about the whole thing- the better odds they will listen.
