She left me. The divorce only took 3 months. It has been 6 since the whole thing began. We are still in communication occassionally as our house is up for sale. We both think things might have gone too fast. reconciliation is not in the cards but friendship isn't either. What to do (besides move on, of course)?

It gets a little bit easier week after week.

I think or thought of my ex when I was making diner (grab out an extra plate), shopping for groceries (oh, he'd like that), waking up and rolling over to see if he was there, expected time home from work, all the daily little things that become so routine. It was 10 years.

Its not easy unwrapping your life from someone elses. I think of these things less but still catch myself. I am still at a point I dare not think of long term dreams as this was all shared plans. Its baby step after baby step.
good luck

I was married 37-1/2 years and went with my ex for 2 years. So when you find out let me know. I was 19 when I got married so I have spend my whole adult life with the guy. Even thur he cheated on me many times. It is hard to get them out of your mind and heart. Moving on is not an easy thing to do . It has been 4 years and some days it seems like yesterday he left and other times I don't ever want to see or talk to him again. I even wish he was dead for what all he did to me. My lawyer said it takes 3 months for every year you were together. So figure it out for yourself. Mine is still along way to go. Good luck and God Bless

I wasn't married but I was in a relationship with a guy for 10 years. It's been five years since we broke up, I've been with someone else for 3 years and I'm getting married in May, but I still dream about my ex about once a week. And not a dream where I want to kill him, but a dream that we're still together and happy (which we weren't in real life). I think I'll always dream about him, but I stopped thinking about him about 18 months after we broke up.
It'll get better

You will think of her for a few years even after you move on.Things in your life will bring back memories of better times in the past.I don't communicate with my ex but because of may kids I hear things about her all the time. After a bad divorce I want to keep my distance. No point in revisiting old wounds.

Get out and find someone else to take your mind off her.
