What you have to remember is this happened on the monkey bars. Humans have certain skills that are hard wired into their brains by instinct. One of which is the ability to swing through the branches of trees like their primate ancestors did. Millions of years ago our ancestors may have lived in trees and needed to be good at climbing trees in order to escape predators. The ones who could climb well from an early age survived, the ones that were bad at it didn't. As people get older they dont practice their tree climbing skills so they lose them. If you show your kids some videos of monkeys playing on trees and monkey bars and then tell them to imitate what they see, you will find they can become very good at it in a short time.

Reminds me of me when I was a young-ling. I always climbed up our huge tree in the back yard and jumped off of it onto our roof.
