I have had 4 brand new desktop computers, 3 HP's, 1 Cisnet, and all have had crashing problems. Their only similarity has been my Earthlink dial-up ISP. I am not in an area to get high speed or DSL. Can Earthlink be the problem? Has anyone else experienced problems like this with Earthlink?

Try dialing up without their dialup software. Try setting up a dialup network in the Network Connections control panel. But before you do so, write down a few of their access numbers so you have them in handy. For username, type in your entire email address. i.e. username@earthlink.net. If you need help, try going to http://support.earthlink.net and find a knowledge base article to help you set that up.
