Actually the question is How could the Saints do that to Joe Horn. He was willing to take a pay cut and a reduced role in the offense to retire as a New Orleans Saint. He felt that Payton didn't want him back, which is why he ASKED for his release. Horn was cleared to play in the NFC Championship Game by Dr. James Andrews, the top sports surgeon on the planet. Payton said he "didnt think Horn was ready", so they sat him. We sure could have used him against Chicago. I wish we could repair the damage and bring him back, because he's one of my favorite Saints (thus the username whodat_87 for Joe Horn) and one of the top WR's in team history. HE DID NOT leave over money. He left because he felt Payton mistreated him. I dont care who he signs with, but Joe please, anyone but the Falcons.

Sean Payton and Horn do not get along. This is why they released him. End of story. Coach Sean is arrogant and knows he can win without Horn and wants to prove this. Horn means much more to the city of New Orleans. Oh and Im tired of hearing how the saints have all these good receivers. Now all we have is Colston. Sure, Henderson makes a few big plays here and there.. but thats it.. and Copper is decent but he too drops several balls.. Yes Bush is a wonderful receiver.. but I think the Saints still need another dominant receiver/ or tight end to keep things rolling.

no, joe horn deserves every penny
How could the saints cut a player, that has been with the franchise through all those bad years?
He is highly respected in New Orleans, and I find it disrespectful on the part of Sean Payton to cut him.
Joe Horn has every right to be angry at Sean Payton
Good luck to him.

Joe Horn could or won't burn the Saints. It relies upon on if the owner of the Falcons will enable the coach do his interest and make Vick be a quarterback and not a Hybrid working lower back which could bypass the ball.

Horns days were number with Colston doing so good as a rookie. Plus, Horn lost a step. I know he was well liked out their but Saints made the right choice letting him go. It will be better for the team.

Joe Horn WANTED to play with the Saints really bad. They just released him for no reason.

Horn was not going to get good money with the Saints. He spent most of last season injured. I think it's best for Horn to go to another team.

No No. The Saints did that to Joe Horn. The stupids wont pay him so he wants to go to the Falcons to help out Vick.

If he can get a raise elsewhere why should he work for the Saint's for less? The Saints didn't seem to have a problem with cutting him if he wouldn't take a pay cut. How would you re-act if your boss said you had to take a 50% pay cut or hit the road? I love the people who say players should be loyal to the team, shouldn't the team be loyal to the players also?
