Don't know about prodessional - but Professional ...
Pitching: May 26, 1959. Harvey Haddix pitched 12 perfect innings against the Milwaukee Braves only to lose 1-0 in the 13th.
Batting: 1951 when 3' 7" Eddie Gaedel (wearing 1/8 on the back of his jersey) pinch-hit and walked on 4 straight balls in a St. Louis Browns' game. But I really think it was when baseball open the Hall-of-Fame in Cooperstown honoring the great players and others to the great American passtime - Baseball.

Branch Rickey signing Jackie Robinson in April 1947. not only was this good for baseball, it was great for America. There are few people I have more respect for than those two. Rickey for thinking oustide the box and going beyond the bigotry of professional sports, and Jackie for playing through the pain and suffering he endured.
I think when those two fans came out of the stands to run around the bases with Hank Aaron when he broke the HR record is a far and distant 2nd. That picture symbolizes and ideal world that we can all strive for.

; Bill Mazeroski, games and series winning HR botton of 9th, 7th game Yankees at PIttsburgh. 1960 world series
Ny won games by scores of 10-0. 12-0 and 16-3. Pirates won games by 6-4, 3-2,5-2, and the last game 10-9.
During the season Mantle hit over 50 hr's and maris hit 61. NY hit10 HR's in the series, but how ironic, they nost theseries on a 9th inning HR by Mazerowski.

Too many to list just one - Gibson's arm-pump, Fisk's arm wave, Babe's called shot, Reggie Jackson hitting 3 HR back 2 back 2 back , Red Sox finally lifting the curse, Gehrig's speech, Jackie Robinson playing at all, Maris's *61, others based on your own team allegiances. Football may be passing baseball in popularity, but it can't touch it in memories.

Watching the mighty Yankees collapse in 2004 against Boston and have their name forever enshrined in history as the only team to ever blow a 3-0 lead in the playoffs. Biggest choke in the history of any sport, and it couldn't have happened to a better team.
Every fan of every team celebrated that day, well, with the exception of the New York "Moneymachine" Yankees.
GO SOX!!!

The greatest moment is when a dying Lou Gehrig said that he was the "Luckiest man on the face of the earth." If you are not moved by that moment then you are not human.
