My curiosity about numbers and the impact they have in our lives has recently been peeked. I want to read into this more, I need a good work of liturature to work from, but I do not know where to begin. Any ideas?

Let me rephrase. Numerology is not quite what I am looking for. I am interested in the patterns that arise in numbers outside of math. If there is any literature written in that fashion, I would be interested. Anything?

Perhaps you meant to post this under "alternative." In this category, all I can really tell you is that numbers do not affect your life in any esoteric ways. Numbers affect your life in an almost unlimited number of concrete, scientifically described ways, but numerology is essentially nonsense. Numerology is to mathematics as astrology is to astronomy.

If you're really set on this path, though, I'd recommend the Kabbalah. It is a mystical text of Judaism that has a strong basis in numerology.

The way numbers crop up in everyday life is interesting, and some authors have explored it. One such book to try to get from your library is "Number, the Language of Science" by Tobias Dantzig. It was published in the late 1940s.

DavidK is right, "numerology" is bunk.

Perhaps next you could ask which the most reliable book about astrology is, or which book of witchcraft is the best...
