The most important thing is to find a way to agree...to compromise.
If you absolutely cannot agree, go to family names: even if you don't like the name, you may both like the person...

Roger Doi-cher is one ch-ger sound too many...the second syllables sound alike, ya know?

The rule's supposed to be that names are more pleasing to the ear when the first & last have different number of syllables....

Elliot Deutchser is more rhythmical than Owen Deutchser, for instance.

I like Owen, Finn & Max......I'm just not sure they work with Deutchser.

Deutchser is so clearly German that you might try to stay away from very Irish or Italian names, for instance.
It would be nice if you could settle on names closer to your nationality.
It doesn't have to be German...you can expand to include Dutch/ Swedish/Scandinavian names--same neck of the woods.

We have friends who did this with their five kids & it works...
Two of their 3 boys are Jensen & Sorenson--both of which would work with Deutchser.

Solid names of a another generation are suddenly being used again...
often by folks like Richard Gere who named his son Homer after his dad; and David Letterman who has a Harry; Tom Hanks has a Truman; etc.

Deutchser is a good, solid, old-world name...
Something not too fussy or pretty or trendy will sound right...
Names like
Douglas, Nicholas, William~
Conrad is a great name-it's German & means "gives good counsel"
Derek or Dirk are Old German & mean "wealth"
Thayer is actually German as well-means "leader"
Fritz-means "peaceful ruler"

Well, the saying is that, "Max is so common now, If you wanna have a Max you have to name him Gus" lol

Keep working together on this...It's one of the best things we ever do for our child~give him a truly great name...

Please, let us know what you decide on...

And listen to inspiration & hunches: some folks believe babies will name themselves if we only learn to listen.

Keep all the lists & notes for his baby book: he'll love knowing how hard you tried to find the perfect name.

Blessings on your baby boy & his lucky parents xo

Roger is a horrible name! Don't let ur husband call him that! Personally I want my son to be called Ash, I think that's a nice name! Out of the 3 you mentioned, Owen Finn and Max, I think Owen is my favourite.

I think Owen is a cool name. Here's an idea you could use the name Owen and have Roger as the middle name. That way it'll be Owen Roger Deutchser. I think that sounds pretty cool!!
