Ok i'm an air hostess so I know this one! When you get to Sharm they will try and sell you a visa it cost about £10, you only need it if you are planning to go off resort and go site seeing for example excurions. Hoever if you are just planning to stay local and in the resort you will not need to get one. But plan ahead becasue if you decide not to get a visa and then you book an excursion you will need to go all theway back to the airport to get one. its the only place you can purchase them. so for £10 it might juts be worth it x

no not as long as you intend to stay with in sharm el sheik but if you want to leave sharm you will need one. even if you intend visiting the marine park at ras mohamed you will need a visa. if you want t go to Cairo for the day you need a visa. but suggest you buy one of you decide you need one when you get there at the airport its cheaper than sending for it, take between £10 and £15 English pounds each (notes only) any change will be given in Egyptians to pay for the visa at the airport its quick and simple i have been twice in the last year and didnt buy one either time. The second time i was ill nad had to leave sharm so i went to the air port and bought one.after arival. Not a problem

You didn't mention where are you from, but in general you need a visa if you are coming with a travel agent a representative or tour leader will help you at the airport and you'll pay him. If you are coming alone check if you can get it in your country if it's around 15 U$D otherwise you'll pay and get it in airport, but sometimes it's crowded when many flights arrives in short time to Sharm.
Welcome in Egypt and enjoy in Sharm

No; but at the airport you are encouraged to buy a 'visa' that allows you out of your hotel complex - i.e. - they say if you need to go to hospital in another town etc.,you will need this stamp - from memory it costs about £12. Though saying that i went on a quad biking experience in the desert and was never asked to produce it. So basically it is a bit of a con to get tourists to pay £12 but one of those risks you have to make a judgement call on - if you do actually need to get to a hospital you do not want to waste time with paper work etc. I do however recommend the quad biking - totally brilliant - just don't break it and get stranded like i did - oooppps. Lovely place - people friendly - airport is a nightmare! Watch out they will charge you a fortune if you have excess baggage - got my friend and charged her £25 (had to be cash) for being a kilo over. Enjoy your holiday!

well Angie baby yes you need a visa and as you have been told before you will get one at point of arrival and please do not argue about it being only for one week its 100le for a 30 day stay,
now if you are an american and you come in from Israel your vise is only for the sinai peninsula this means anywhare near the Nile is not on you have to say on the border that you want to visit (say for Cairo )and this will cover all of Egypt,
