My friend and I met this guy while out together at new year's eve at a friend's house. They exchanged phone numbers, but she was pushy about it. About a month later, she told me that the friend had told her that the guy she exchanged numbers with was interested, and that they were going to go out. So I mentioned it to some mutual friends, and they thought it was suspicious. So I asked the guy whose house we went to that night if his friend had said anything to him about her, and he said no. So she lied. So how do I go about saying something to her about it without being b!tchy or over-confrontational?

If anything she looks stupid not you. Don't confront her. Just let it go. It's not worth it. i sense a little bit of competition between the two of you and it seems like thats the real issue. The fact that she feels she needs to lie to impress you and the fact that you need to go back and fact check your conversations to prove she's lying. This might not be a good relationship for either of you.

Kind of confusing, but let me give it a try. Okay, first thing...Good friend, or just a friend. B/c friends shouldn't do that to friends. So confront her about it!! Unless it's like a best friend...hoes b4 bros babe!!
No she really shouldn't be lying to you. Let her know that you understand if she likes him. But tell her to be straight wit you! She shouldn't have to lie to you. Tell her you would've understood. Let her know that is was REALLY wrong, and next time just tell you the truth. Let her off the hook, but don't make it easy!

Why say anything? Let her talk ... if what she's saying is untrue, no need to make a fool out of her; she can do that all by herself.
