Is there any Gas/Electric meter readers out there? Is it a good job & is it worth doing?

Just received a job application from METER-U and wondered whether to go ahead! Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know someone who is a meter reader, and she says she is on really good money with bonuses. But I dont know who she works for. I think its quite long hours.

Today it is not a bad job. They are however, slowly phasing them out with meters they can dial up and read remotely. When this happens with the company you are planning on hiring on with you will probably be terminated.
