I'm having a baby boy in June and I was debating this as well. There are MANY conflicting medical studies. Recently, a study came out claiming it prevents transmission of HIV/AIDS, but then another study refuted that and said the original study was handled in a biased way. It's so confusing! I don't want to make any mistakes with my son and I've heard a few horror stories from mothers with circumcised boys and mothers with uncircumcised boys.
Right now, I'm leaning towards NOT having it done because my fiance is not circumcised and has had absolutely no medical problems. Ideally, if the penis is kept clean on a regular basis, boys will not become prone to infection. My fiance has agreed to maintain our little boy's hygiene until he is old enough to handle it himself. Also, the majority of men in the world are not circumcised. Some women do it because it's more accepted in the Western world, but I don't think that's a good enough reason. Please research and think this over carefully and thoroughly.

My son is 9 now, but I just couldnt do it to him at the time. My husband is Curcumsized but he didnt want to do it either. I didnt want to hurt him. He has never had any infections at all. Sometimes I wish that i would have done it so he would be like all the other boys i dont want him to be embaressed if another boy saw him. But i have talked to him and he doesnt care lol. If i were to have another boy i probably wouldnt do him either, Just for the sake of keeping them the same. Just do what you feel easy in your heart to do.

I did it. I knew in the long run it would be easier for him. The hospital he was born at offered two methods of circumsions. One was a surgical procedure and one was where they put a plastic ring on his penis and pulled back the extra skin then the plastic piece falls off on its own. The plastic ring was the circumsion we opted for and everything turned out great! Good Luck!

It's pretty 50/50 Now a days,But I let my husband decide And beings he was snipped,He wants his son snipped too :)
Good luck making the Choice!! But it seems like you have already made yours ;)

The reason I did it was, it is easier to keep clean and infection free but honestly, I just prefer the way it looks better.
I've just recently discovered that it can be done many different ways with varied results. My youngest sons foreskin was pulled over a thimble looking bell and a clamp was screwed down over it. The skin on the other side of the thimble was just trimmed off. His circumcision looks neater, tighter and slicker than my oldest. They tied a plastic ring around his and he has a bunch of skin hugging around the head. My youngest has the best circ job.

I just couldn't bear to lop off the end of my son's penis, and I didn't want to do anything that would cause him to lose sensitivity as an adult.
I actually wonder now if I did the right thing, after reading all the studies about circumcision significantly reducing the risk of contracting HIV.
I know men who chose, for various reasons, to get circumcised as adults, and it wasn't terrible. So I will let my son know he always has that option.

I had my son circumsized cause my boyfriends nephew had to get it done when he was a little boy cause the hole closed up. So we did it to save him from possible pain later in life.

Unless you are Jewish or there is a particularly good medical reason for doing it then - NO!!! I am not circumcised. My brothers all were because their foreskins were too tight. I would challenge any women to show me how my genitals are less clean than hers. I shower every day most times twice a day and always ensure that underneath my foreskin is clean. I have Never had any infection down there. I don't think having a foreskin is any risk. Some women like it and I've never had any complaints.

It is most definitely your choice! I'm leaving my son's there for him to decide. I know that nobody wants to think about their little baby as a sexual person, but they will be one day. The only reason I have heard for non Jewish people to get circumcised was to prevent masturbation, and now I think it is mainly due to people wanting their child to "fit in" either with their peers or with their father.
