It's coming up and yeah I could go out a buy something if I wanted but that feels lame since he makes the money and I stay home; it's like buying him something with his own money.
So I am trying to think of something I could do for him or something he would like. Something memorable.
Not sayng I can't spend money, but I don't want to just go out a buy something and go "here ya go". What do you think?

Arrange a day of doing things with him that he enjoys, and BE ENTHUSIASTIC! If he loves horror movies and you hate 'em, buy two tickets anyway and bury your head in his shoulder. If he's all work and no play (like my husband can be), arrange for him to spend some time with his buddies or enjoying a neglected hobby. Act out a fantasy he's shared- it shows you love him and are paying attention. Someone suggested steak and a BJ... if that's his thing, do it!
Bottom line- make the day (or weekend) all about him; what he likes, what he wants, what he's thinking. A woman who cares is the best gift of all.

You could plan a special day or weekend to do things that he enjoys. You would know best what he likes so go with that. If he is an outdoors man, go hiking, fishing or camping. You could go to a movie he would like or go to a sporting local sporting event. It will mean a lot to him because you in the effort to make it special for him.
