People who can't speak English shouldn't be allowed to have citizenship. Why the hell would you not speak the language of the country you're fleeing to?! Signs should just be in English, and spanish speaking motorists who DONT speak it shouldn't get a liscense! And if they don't like it, they can just raft themselves back to Cuba or Mexico or wherever the hell they swarmed in from.

As for the rest who immigrate LEGALLY and take the time to learn the language of the place that they are moving to, welcome home, Americans! Help us round up and deport all these mexicans!

PS: Arrogance is going to somebody else's country and expecting it to be mandatory to speak YOUR language... chulo

1 - No, just the opposite, it's very, very helpful as the rest of the world scrambles to learn English so it can do business in the global markets.

2 - Maybe, maybe not - monolingual, probably; monocultural, likely, but not certain.

You sound like you've been worked over pretty heavily by the multiculturalists. This stuff is awfully small potatoes given what's going on in the world, don't you think?

I think those issues should be dealt with on a regional basis. It does not make sense to have signs in spanish in Montana, but it sure does in Miami.
Personally, I think it is a personal choice of someone whether or not to learn the language. Ultimately it only makes it easier to get around here but you can survive without it, numbers are numbers.

Learned a new theory in political science today, did we? We have a distinct American Culture that was born with Freedom. Keep an eye on that, rather than a bunch of silly mono stuff.
