This is a VERY complex question. There are so many factors to consider. I'm in the US so I can only answer as I've experienced through travel, but here's my 2 cents.

1. People of other countries only get what THEIR media tells them, and they only tell them what THEIR leaders want them to know. Most leaders want the US out of the position of "leader of the free world" which would bring up a whole other question.

2. People of other countries don't understand the very extensive position the world has put us in. When we, as the "leader of the free world", stand by and do nothing they hate us for being week and not sharing the wealth. When we do something, we are labeled as evil invaders. That's a two barreled shotgun with one barrel facing the wrong way!

3. We are easily hated. While we are by FAR not the wealthiest country in the world, that title is held by most Arab nations, we live the best life. They are jeallous. They see our nice homes, expensive lifestyles, etc while their top 1% live far better than our top 1% but their bottom 99% lives far worse than our bottom 99%. Someday they may realize that their leadership is doing this to them and put a stop to it. Until then, we will be hated.

4. This list would go on for 100's, but I must end somewhere. These I feel are the top 3 reasons, but that's just my opinion. I don't think anyone really "knows" why we are hated so.

Jealous? Won't the message, we CIVILISED countries, want to pass across to you actually be understood by you?

You are the country with the 3 largest GDP(by the way, I live in the country with the highest GDP Luxembourg, 50% above the level of the second best), that is true but when you split that figure and analyse the inequality effect you are right at the bottom of the developed countries.

Does that tell you anything? It does to us Europeans.
Iran, Russia, and China are all well above you, so tell me what can anyone be jealous of?

You are at the bottom of the equality table, making the majority of Americans poorer than the majority of the world.

You are well known for you violations of human rights, making you the FIRST country in the world to be expelled in 2001 by the human rights commission since its creation back in the 40s.

You are one of the most belligerent countries on earth, responsible for direct and indirect acts of terrorism through financing

You are the world’s biggest polluter

And the list could go on and on.

Just realise this, look at the standard of living in most European countries, the respect for all (not if you are part of an elite) and tell me why we don't like US policies?

That is because we are light years ahead of you in terms of social equality and quality of life.

We look at the US much like we would look into a new rich spoiled kid, that spends unnecessary gigantic amounts of money on its military and yet denies the basic need to health and education for free and worse, does not recognise the right to food as a basic human right, not even for children starving to death in the world

Wake up!

Interestingly, most foreigners only like the high level of luxury we enjoy, but not our lifestyle.

I now live in the Czech Republic, and probably only 1 in 10 Czechs would trade their life here for one in the U.S.A.

Back when Communism had just ended here, I heard some guys arguing about life here as opposed to the U.S. They finally concluded that, for all our material possessions, Americans didn't seem as genuinely happy as they are, so they could not claim to be jealous of our way of life.

what a lot of rubbish, the only people who think others are jealous of the USA are Americans, and i say that as someone who likes Americans and America. we have good lives here in the UK and unlike most Americans iv traveled to many countries ( including America ) and saw for my self, i think your media and leaders lead you to believe this rubbish. as for us only knowing what our leaders or media think. coming from Americans that one is rich. we have many ways of finding things out for ourselves and i would say are way more informed than the average American is.

When you send troops overseas to slaughter their children and steal their oil, those tears you see are really tears of jealously.

Shoot them with more Freedom.
