am on the patch but before i was using the depo shot for 3 months and i want to know if durring the week off on the patch if you need to use a condom so you would not get pregnant? by the way am maried had a baby already. but please i am new on the patch am going to have 3months using it.i want to know if i have to use a condom during the week off? i will apreciated

i would just in case i was on the depo shot for over 2 yrs and when i got off of it it has taken me 18 mo to get pregnant but when switch bc its best to use protection my little sister was on the shot got off for 2 weeks and got pregnant it really depends on how your body reacted to the shot if you have questions ask your dodctor or go to www.realsavvymoms.com they can help you out with out seeing you there are some of the best on fertility birth controll and babies

You don't need to use a condom to prevent pregnancy during the week off the patch, so long as you've worn a patch at least 21 consecutive days before.
The patch, when worn for 21 days prevents ovulation, which is the primary way it prevents pregnancy. It also thickens the mucous around your cervix making it harder for sperm to get through, and thins the lining of your uterus, making it a bad place for a fertilized egg to try and grow.

It seems like you would have to. I'm not exactly sure, but why would you take the chance. So, yes, use one. Really, you should be using condoms all the time anyway, because no patch is 100% effective.

If you have been on the patch for at least one cycle, you don't need to use condoms during the off week. Most likely you will be on your period during that week.

i imagine that if you're apprehensive then you definately could attempt a diverse birth control technique. i became on the patch after a miscarriage or maybe as wearing the patch, I conceived my now 3 year previous little lady. in the different case i became lower than the impression that your week off became your era.......
